Progress

Winter (Merlot)

Fall (Shiraz)

Spring (Zinfandel)

Summer (Chardonnay)

Paragraph about the winery and the name:
Eco-friendly organic wine is named "Tree Hugger's Wine," because this organic wine not only uses trees for the barrels, but seeks to sustain the existing trees we use. The organic products that are used in the vineyards will not only create delicious wine, but also sustain the health of the forest and the eco-system.

Design:
I decided to change my direction for the wine bottles. I assigned each bottle a solstice season and a color. I will have four bottles of wine, fall (red), winter (white), spring (green) and summer (orange/yellow). I will be using the images above to reference what my designs will look like. I am making similar images as the ones shown above, except they will all be one color sort of like cut outs/silhouettes. The image below is an idea for what I might be doing for the bottles.

Pamphlet:
I am will design a 4-6 page spread pamphlet for the winery, explaining why people should choose organic and eco-friendly wineries. It will also include the process of making wine, and some sketches or photos of the winery. I was thinking I would have the first page be transparent with text and the second page be a wine bottle, creating two layers for the pamphlet. I will be doing more research this week. I may reference an actual winery to make this seem more tangible.

Progress

Friends idea for my design lable

Rough sketch on illustrator what it could look like.

Here are some ideas for the design:
  •  Trees and roots (Things growing on the roots? Maybe mechanical objects that relate to solar power or wind power machines.)
  • Growing plants from a pot?
  • Pun or joke about tree huggers?

Possible elements for each wine:

  • Earth/soil – merlot
  • Water – Riesling
  • Fire – zinfandel
  • Wind – shiraz

I'd like to some how incorporate these elements, however, I may change my mind. I'm wanting to create a design that is effective and that relates to the environment. I can't decide yet if I want to make the bottle catchy and funny or classy and elegant. Either way, I want people to enjoy my design and make it look "cool."  I'm honestly having a creative block. Any suggestions?

Eco-Friendly Wine Company

Idea:
Eco-friendly printing and design for wine bottles.

Concept:
Sleek design with using recycled paper that reduces carbon footprint. Design either a pamphlet or website for company. Maybe using recycled glass from old wine bottles? Make sure packaging is sophisticated and smart.

Product:

·       A website or pamphlet for the company printed out on recycled paper.
·       Design that relates to Eco-friendly products and ideas.
·       Wine that will be highlighted will be, red: Merlot, Zinfandel, Shiraz and Chardonnay.

Timeline:

Product may change or vary over time. This is a rough estimate for what will happen over the course of the term.

Week 2:
Figure out name and product design. Research vineyards and other eco-friendly wine companies.

Week 3:
Have logo and name figured out. Look for materials.

Week 4:
Start designing layout of either website or pamphlet. Maybe even both depending on if I find a good website tutorial.

Week 5:
Have full design fleshed out for bottles and chocolates. Write descriptions about wine and chocolate parings.

Week 6:
Talk to eco-friendly printing companies and costs. Also go to vineyards to take photos for pamphlet or website.

Week 7:
Have most of project finished: pamphlet and/or website, wine bottles, and chocolate designed and packaged together. Make adjustments if needed.

Week 8:
Take photos for website and/or pamphlet design. Finish that up.

Week 9:
Make sure everything is properly printed. Do test prints to make sure if everything looks polished. Everything must be eco-friendly and cost effective.  Everything must be packaged and finalized.

Week 10:
Review.
